Engaging Children with Nature Talk
Thursday 16 July 9:30 - 10:30am
A connection to nature can boost the health, wellbeing, and development of children. Families tell us they would like to enjoy more nature-based play and learning, but it is not always easy to know where to begin.
Presented by Claire Robinson, an experienced educator who led the education programme at London and Whipsnade Zoos and who now lends her time to Hertfordshire and Middlesex Wildlife Trust.
The talk will provide:
- A summary of benefits to health, wellbeing and development.
- The importance of valuing and protecting nature for the future.
- How children learn and how to engage them through all their senses.
- Ideas for things to spot in the local area.
- A free i-spy nature book to take home
Please note this talk is designed for parents and carers to pass on the information to their little ones. The talk itself is not designed for children.
This is a free event. Please make sure you let us know if you can’t attend so your ticket can be given to someone else.
